This is, at heart, a 324 page workbook for learning the Tarot. Many years ago, when I was still in the beginning stages of learning about Tarot, I did as beginners today do. Go with your gut more than what the book is telling you. Someone that already has a basic knowledge of the card's meaning or has more experience would not have a problem with them however. There are decks that would be easier for beginners to use. (And yes, I do differentiate between a workbook and a book that aims to present material in a more textual manner.) I have several quibbles with the presentation of this book, beginning with the use of clip art on the front and back… The site provides information on the book itself, a Tarot community with help, instruction, news, forums, and guest lectures by Tarot experts. I would not recommend this deck for someone who is a brand new beginner and just learning the tarot. Plus you can find a lot of books i've always really wanted to buy myself a tarot card deck and learn how to read them, mostly just out of interest and curiosity, but i've come to realize that there are many types of decks out there. Allow it to be the guiding light when reading the Tarot cards. In fact, it is these practical exercises that are the real heart and soul of Tarot Face to Face, and they are as useful for teaching beginners the necessary techniques and approaches as they are to helping advanced readers learn new aspects of themselves and the Tarot, and shake themselves out of old, staid habits.
